Exode est un format d’EP hybride, alliant musique et cinéma par Jardin (Lény Bernay). Cet EP digital Post-Hip-Hop et Néo-Hardcore se déploie dans un film d’anticipation dystopique et poétique filmé au printemps 2021 entre les mesures sanitaires internationales et l’urgence culturelle, entre la ville et les champs, la rivière et le brasier, le crépuscule et l’aube.

Ce projet prend pour point de départ les 4 nouveaux morceaux de l’EP digital Exode de Jardin. Produit en regard de notre contexte social, pandémique et politique mouvementé, cet EP donne naissance à un film de fiction d’anticipation de 30 minutes realisé par Selim Bentounes.

Aux rythmes de cette musique, deux jeunes femmes (interprétées par Helena de Laurens et Yohanna-My Nguyen), dans les affres d’un
amour malade, tentent de se retrouver lors d’un événement cataclysmique. Les thèmes abordés sont La possibilité d’un exode intime, le contrôle globalisé contemporain sur fond de burn-out urbain et de vagues migratoires. Jardin y ré-interprête ses chansons entre créature fantômatique, corp mourant et chant végétal.

Depuis 2018 Jardin travaille à un corpus de morceaux Post-Hip-Hop et Néo-Hardcore co-produits à plusieurs mains et sur lesquels iel dévoile sa vision aiguisée du monde. Iel réunit ces 4 chansons en regard de notre contexte social, pandémique et politique décadant, habité.e par un mouvement optimiste : Oui Futur.

Exode is an EP with a hybrid format in which Jardin (Lény Bernay) blends music and cinema. Shot in Spring of 2021, this digital post-hip-hop, neo-hardcore EP comes to life through a dystopian and poetic sci-fi film, caught between international sanitary measures and cultural crises, between the city and the countryside, between the river and the blaze, between dawn and dusk.

As a starting point, this project uses the 4 new tracks of Jardin’s digital EP, Exode. Produced in the context of our turbulent social, pandemic and political environment, this EP gives birth to a 30-minute sci-fi film directed by Selim Bentounes.

Trapped in the music and the torments of a sick love, two young women (played by Helena de Laurens and Yohanna-My Nguyen) try to find each other during a cataclysmic event. The themes addressed are the possibility of an intimate exodus and contemporary globalised control against a background of urban burnout and migratory waves. Jardin reinterprets their songs in a universe filled with ghostly creatures, dying bodies and vegetal melodies.

This collaborative corpus of post-hip-hop and neo-hardcore music, on which Jardin has been working since 2018, reveals their sharp vision of the world. These 4 songs address our decadent social, pandemic and political context, inhabited nonetheless by an optimistic movement: Oui Futur.
